Add a vaccination
You can record a vaccine from either place:
- During a visit: in the visit workspace, press Add under Vaccines given. The vaccine is linked to that visit.
- On the patient record: open the Vaccinations tab and press Add vaccination. Useful for vaccines given elsewhere or history from paper records.
Fill in:
- Vaccine, for example Rabies, DHPPi or FVRCP.
- Date given.
- Next due: the booster date. Leave it empty if no booster is needed.
- Batch / lot number: worth recording in case of a manufacturer recall.
See what's due
- On the Vaccinations tab, each vaccine shows Overdue (red), Due soon (within 30 days) or the Next due badge. The patient overview shows how many days until, or since, the next due date.
- The dashboard lists Vaccines due this week across the clinic.
- When a newer dose of the same vaccine is recorded, the older one counts as renewed and no longer shows as due.
Remind the owner
Next due dates feed straight into reminders. On the Reminders page, press Generate reminders to create messages for vaccines coming due. See Generate and send reminders.
