Every animal's care, properly recorded.

Shelters care for many animals with few hands and tight budgets. Vetlyn is built for clinics, and the medical and kennel side of a shelter fits it well: who is where, what they've had, and what's due next.

  • Kennel board and daily care logs
  • Vaccines and treatment history per animal
  • Donated stock with batches and expiry

What gets in the way today, and the feature that fixes it

Each problem on the left is matched to a real Vetlyn feature on the right.

  1. 01

    The problem

Vaccines and treatments for dozens of animals

Paper cards on kennel doors get lost, and it's hard to see who is due what this week.

    Vetlyn

    Patient records & vaccinations

Each animal has a full medical history, vaccinations with next due dates, a weight chart and alerts. The dashboard lists vaccines due this week.

  2. 02

    The problem

    Who is in which kennel?

Moves, arrivals and adoptions make the whiteboard out of date by lunchtime.

    Vetlyn

    Boarding board

Set up your kennels and runs, and see at a glance who is in each one. The daily care log records meals, walks and medication.

  3. 03

    The problem

    Donated supplies going to waste

Medication and food arrive in mixed batches with different expiry dates.

    Vetlyn

    Inventory

Record donated items with batch numbers and expiry dates. Expiring batches are flagged so they're used first.

  4. 04

    The problem

    Paperwork at adoption

Agreements, medical summaries and signatures are scattered across folders.

    Vetlyn

    Forms

Write your own adoption agreement as a form template, then have the adopter sign on screen. Print the signed copy and a visit summary.

  1. 08:00

    Kennel board

Who's in each kennel, who arrived yesterday and who's leaving today.

  2. 08:30

    Morning care

Volunteers log meals, walks and medication for each animal.

  3. 10:00

    Intake

New arrivals get a record with species, estimated age, microchip, alerts and first vaccines.

  4. 12:00

    Vet visit

Exams with SOAP notes and dictation; treatments and vaccines recorded with batch numbers.

  5. 15:00

    An adoption

The adopter signs your agreement on a tablet and the animal's record moves to its new owner.

  6. 17:00

    Supplies check

Filter inventory to items expiring within 30 days and move them to the front.

Good to know

What Vetlyn doesn't do (yet)

3 things worth knowing before you start your trial.

  • 1

Every animal needs an owner record

Vetlyn links each patient to a client. Most shelters create the shelter itself as a client for animals in care, then change the owner to the adopter at adoption.

  • 2

No adoption listings or foster management

There's no public adoption website, applicant tracking, foster network or donor management. Vetlyn covers the medical and kennel side.

  • 3

    Built for clinics

Billing, reminders and reports are designed around a clinic. Shelters use them where they help, such as adoption fees or reminding adopters about boosters.

// FAQ

Questions from shelters & rescues

The things teams like yours ask before they switch.

Something else?Talk to the Vetlyn team
How do we record animals that don't have an owner yet?

Create your shelter as a client, for example "Shelter – in care", and register animals under it. When an animal is adopted, add the adopter as a client and change the pet's owner in Edit patient. The full medical history stays with the animal.

Can volunteers use Vetlyn?

Yes. Invite them with their own login. Choose a role that fits; sensitive actions such as exports, voiding invoices and changing settings are limited to owners and admins.

Can we remind adopters about boosters?

Yes. Once the adopter is the owner and the next due date is recorded, Generate reminders includes them like any other client.

Do you offer pricing for non-profits?

Prices aren't published yet. Tell us about your organisation and we'll talk through the options.
